Innerkrems: a mountain village at 1,500 m by the Nockalmstrasse
Innerkrems is part of the municipality of Krems in Kärnten in Carinthia, in the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve. The village lies at 1,500 m above sea level.
It is one of the two official gateways to the Nockalmstrasse panoramic road. The other is in Ebene Reichenau.
What to expect here – and what not
Innerkrems is not a ski resort in its own right. The regional tourist office lists two practice lifts in the village and one lift for children who are starting out.
The children’s lifts are run by the Sport Schiffer ski school and operate from 23 December to 12 January and from 1 February to 9 March.
From here a free ski bus runs to the pistes at Katschberg. It has 80 km of pistes and 17 lifts and cable cars, between 1,170 and 2,220 m above sea level. The highest point is Aineck at 2,220 m.
The winter season at Katschberg will run from 4 December 2026 to 28 March 2027. For winter 2026/27 an adult day ski pass costs €73.00 from 8:45, €66.00 from 11:30, €50.00 from 13:30 and €28.00 from 14:30.

Innerkrems in summer
In summer no cable cars run here. The municipality offers hiking, cycling, archery, rafting, canyoning, a rope park and an Outdoorpark.
