Do you want one last day of skiing at the end of winter? The 3K K-onnection cable car takes you from the centre of Kaprun up to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, where snow conditions are perfect from the turn of March until the end of May. Experienced skiers, freeriders and snowboarders will find what they are looking for, and so will recreational skiers and families with children.
Pack your bike next to your skis. The resort in the valley does not fall asleep with the last snowflakes. The popular Tauern Cycle Path runs right through Zell am See. It winds a good 300 km and, thanks to minimal elevation gain, invites comfortable bike trips suitable for beginners too. While it is fairly busy in summer, in spring you can ride kilometres of the asphalt path with its beautiful views without meeting anyone.
Do not forget your hiking boots either, and set off to explore the area around Zell am See on foot. Hiking trails will stretch your legs through valleys that are just starting to turn green.
Take a trip to Zeller See, visit the Maiskogel adventure mountain with its attractions, admire the cascading Krimml waterfalls or take the zellamseeXpress cable car to the top of Schmittenhöhe. Panoramic views of the surrounding Alpine peaks and of the lake await you.
End a day spent in the mountain air with a rest in the Tauern Spa wellness oasis. Treat yourself to a massage or a beauty treatment and have fun with the children in the pool with water slides.
