Relaxing in Bad Kleinkirchheim

In spring in Austria you can enjoy relaxation in the thermal baths, easy hiking and, above all, avoid the crowds. Which destinations are ideal for a visit in the spring months?

Bad Kleinkirchheim: a spa complex right below the piste

In the Carinthian town of Bad Kleinkirchheim the world of skiing and the world of wellness complement each other perfectly. The Römerbad spa was built right at the foot of one of the pistes of the local ski resort. The complex stands on the site of the well-known healing springs of St Catherine. You can relax in the indoor and outdoor pools, in various types of sauna, in thermal baths or with a massage. Bad Kleinkirchheim has a second thermal bath as well – Therme St. Kathrein.

Have you ever been in a sauna right on the piste? Here you can. The local ski area has glass-fronted infrared saunas, available free of charge to ski pass holders.

For easy hiking, head for the nearby lakes Millstätter See, Ossiacher See or Wörthersee. Looking for an unusual family outing? Then try the former garnet mines in Radenthein. The visitor centre, combined with a tour of the mines, tells you everything about the history, mining, processing and healing properties of this gemstone.
